Gender mainstreaming guidelines require institutions to adopt gender-responsive policies, programs and activities that ensure men, women, boys and girls benefit equally from the available opportunities in the social, economic and political spheres.
As the department responsible for the implementation of gender mainstreaming in all government ministries, departments and agencies, the State Department for Gender constantly engages with MDAs to find common ways of achieving this requirement.
Today, PS Anne Wang'ombe met with her colleague Principal Secretary in the State Department for Tourism - Kenya, John Ololtuaa PS Tourism, to discuss areas of possible collaboration and partnerships. The need for incorporating gender inclusion into the ongoing review of Tourism Policy & Regulations was emphasized.
The meeting was also attended by technical heads and representatives from both state departments.
